Design
The NP9262 looks commanding. Its peripheral appearance is bulky but sophisticated, and by sophisticated I mean has no spiky corners or even the odd forceful edges and to add on all corners on this unit are satisfactorily rounded off. The foundation half of the base is less significant than the top half, giving the feeling this machine is slighter than it really is. All visible areas of the NP9262 with the exclusion of the keyboard and cover are delightfully refined with an unambiguous lustrous lacquer.
Performance
The NP9262 is powered by an Intel Core 2 E8400 3.0GHz Processor w/6M L2 Cache - 1,333MHz FSB, which is not a regular notebook combination, but as it is embedded in the Sager now, it is all set to rock the performance chart. The graphics potency of the notebook is powered through the double impact of DUAL NVIDIA Geforce 8800M GTX in SLi Mode w/1,024MB, which accelerates the graphics to greater possible levels. It even houses a mighty 4GB RAM.
The NP9262 is loaded with a 17-inch screen obtainable in 2 resolutions, WSXGA+ (1680x1050) and WUXGA (1920x1200); the unit reviewed was loaded with the latter. The display eminence is out-and-out eye-catching. Bright and apparent, it shows of a High Definition video and games particularly well with immense lucidity and sharpness.
The NP9262 has 4 speakers - 2 are located on top of the laptop to the right and left of the keyboard, and 2 seated right below the palm rest area. The speakers resonance is loud and clear and are improved than those fitted in most laptops.
The Sager NP9262 hosts the bulkiest cooling solution I have ever witnessed on a laptop. It is equipped with 4 large fans. The entire rear of the machine is essentially one giant vent. At idle, there is a considerable amount of hot air emanate from the rear. The 12-cell battery pack is so well organized in its mettle to handle the power crisis.
Conclusion
The Sager NP9262 is not diminutive, is not economical, and is not for all and sundry. This laptop battleship means trade with its intimidating design, trustworthy quality, and armory of high-powered elements.
