Consumers who want a top-performing notebook should definitely consider the
Sony VAIO AW Series VGN-AW450F/H Notebook PC. This sleek, high-quality, multimedia performer is great for watching Blu-Ray movies or playing the latest games. Like many other
VAIO series notebooks, this model is loaded with useful features and plenty of room for upgrades. Unfortunately, the large dimensions and short battery life makes this notebook a better performer than traveler. If you need a notebook primarily for stationary use in home or office, then the
Sony VGN-AW450FH is one to consider.
At 17.2" x 1.45" x 11.4" and 8.2 pounds, this notebook is a little too bulky for on-the-go functionality. Battery life is also a much less than average, coming in at only two and a half hours. The notebooks size and battery faults are certainly the negatives about this product. On the plus side, the Sony
VAIO AW Series VGN-AW450FH is loaded with impressive features and performance capabilities. If you are a casual gamer or entertainment lover, then this may be the one for you.
Features
Considering the numerous features of the
Sony VAIO VGN-AW450FH notebook, this is one of the better-equipped models for the price. It comes pre-loaded on 320GB SATA hard drive with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, as well as trial versions of Norton Internet Security and Microsoft Office. This 18.4" notebook features an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7450, supported by 4GB DDR2 RAM (8GB max) and a NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics chipset (512MB memory). And with other great enhancements such as stereo Bluetooth, integrated WiFi a/b/g/n, and a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD combo drive, this model is hard to compete with for the price.
Ergonomics
Because of the bulkiness of this laptop, it is unlikely that you can take it on-the-go with the confidence that comes with an ultraportable or mid-sized notebook. This model best suits the needs of the casual gamer or home entertainer, whether it is for playing the latest video games or connecting the notebook to an HDTV via the HDMI to watch your favorite Blu-Ray movies. In addition to being bulky, another strike against this model is its poor battery performance. With less than 3 hours of operating time, users must stay aware of the battery life- and stay near an electrical outlet to ensure continual usage.
Summary
If you are looking for Sony quality, then expect a Sony price, but overall if you want the best performance and features in a notebook then consider the Sony
VAIO AW Series VGN-AW450FH
Notebook PC. Consumers looking for ultraportable laptops or models with long battery life should consider a different product- quite frankly, the VGN-AW450FH suffers in the areas of portability and battery life. But if you are a casual gamer or home entertainment fanatic, then by all means this may be the notebook for you.
